String Plug (External)
Rubber-coated fiber strips inserted from outside without dismounting. Repair time: 5-10 minutes, cost $0.50-1.00. Fastest method but not a permanent repair per RMA standards.
Internal Patch
Applied to the inner liner after dismounting. Area is buffed, cleaned, cemented, and patch applied with a stitching roller. Repair time: 20-30 minutes, cost $1.50-3.00. Seals inner liner but leaves puncture channel open.
Combination Plug-Patch (Industry Standard)
Mushroom-shaped plug with integrated patch base. The stem fills the puncture channel while the flat base seals the inner liner. The only method endorsed by RMA/TIA as a permanent repair. Repair time: 25-35 minutes, cost $2.00-4.00.
Vulcanizing Cement
Not ordinary glue — rubber compound in solvent that chemically bonds with tire rubber. Without proper cement, patches peel and plugs loosen. Our cement is available in 250ml, 475ml, and 950ml cans. Shelf life: 24 months sealed.
